It is 2am and your mind will not rest.
“I keep going over it so nothing catches us off guard.”
“I just want us to sleep.”
Part of you wants to. Part of you does not.
InnerOS is an Internal Family Systems (IFS) app. Write what is on your mind and your parts answer, one at a time, each in its own voice. You hear every side, then choose from a calmer place.

“I just want us to sleep.”
“I want to go. I am tired of waiting.”
“I want to stay. Staying feels safe.”
“I keep us useful. That is how we stay close to people.”
“I am tired. I want one day that is mine.”
Each voice is a part of you, and each one is trying to help. That is the heart of Internal Family Systems. Next, find out which one is loudest.

What actually happens next:
Nothing leaves your device unless you ask.
Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a model of therapy made by Dr. Richard Schwartz. It sees the mind as naturally made of many parts, like an inner family. Each part is trying to help, even when what it does is not helpful. IFS therapy builds a kind, steady relationship between you and those parts.
InnerOS pairs IFS with Jung's archetypes. Ten archetypes stand in for parts that many people recognise: the Warrior protects, the Caregiver looks after others, the Sage reflects. When you write what is on your mind, the ones who have something to say answer in turn. You hear the disagreement instead of only feeling it.
InnerOS is not therapy, and it is not for a crisis. Many people use it between therapy sessions.
An Internal Family Systems app helps you practise IFS parts work on your own, between therapy sessions or instead of them. InnerOS is one. You write what is on your mind, and each part of you that wants to speak answers in its own voice, so you hear the disagreement instead of only feeling it.
There is no single best IFS app. It depends on what you want. Some are audio guides, some are journals with parts prompts, some are chat companions. InnerOS is for people who keep going round in circles over a choice or a feeling. It lets each side of the argument in your head speak, instead of trying to quiet it. You can compare IFS apps side by side on our comparison page.
Yes. InnerOS is an app for IFS parts work. You write what is on your mind, and the parts of you that want to speak answer one at a time, then the session ends on one next step. It helps you practise noticing your parts on your own. It is not a licensed IFS therapist.
Yes. InnerOS is one. You can run a parts-work session on your own, with no therapist needed. It is not therapy and will not diagnose or treat you. It gives you a calm order to follow: each part takes a turn, and nobody talks over anyone.
No. IFS therapy needs a trained therapist who can read how you respond in the room, and an AI cannot do that. An IFS chatbot or AI app can still help with the writing practice around it: naming a part, staying curious instead of harsh, and keeping what came up. InnerOS uses AI for that structure only.
No. InnerOS is a tool for looking inward, shaped by IFS ideas. It is not therapy, it does not diagnose or treat anything, and it is not for a crisis. Many people use it between therapy sessions to practise hearing their parts. It does not replace working with a licensed IFS therapist.
An IFS companion app is something you use between therapy sessions to stay in touch with your parts. Some people call it an IFS buddy. It helps you notice which part is speaking, what it wants, and what it is trying to protect. InnerOS does this in writing, with each part answering in its own voice.
About ten minutes. You bring a choice or a knot you keep circling. The parts that have something to say answer, and you can keep talking with them as long as it helps. A session ends on one next step, so you can close the app and get on with your day.
The ten are Sovereign (authority), Warrior (protection), Sage (wisdom), Lover (connection), Creator (expression), Caregiver (nurturing), Explorer (curiosity), Trickster (disruption), Achiever (drive) and Wounded Healer (transformation). Each one is a familiar way of wanting things, and most people can find a bit of all ten in themselves.
InnerOS gives each one a turn.
