InnerOS for parents: a private place for every feeling
Yes, InnerOS can be a safe place for a tired parent to be honest. You write what is on your mind, and your parts answer one at a time. The tired one, the guilty one, the one that misses who you were. Nobody is judging. It is not parenting advice and not therapy. It is only about you.
Based on Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and Carl Jung's archetypes.
Does any of this sound like you?
Maybe you love them completely and still feel worn thin.
Maybe guilt follows you around. Work, screens, the time you snapped.
Maybe you miss the person you were before the schedules and the lunchboxes.
Maybe everyone says "enjoy every moment", and you are not sure where to put the other feelings.
What may be going on inside
A parent carries many parts. The caring part. The angry part. The part that wants one quiet minute. The part that remembers being a child. None of them is wrong.
A part that gets pushed away does not leave. It waits, and it often comes back louder. Listening to a part is not the same as giving in to it. It just lets the part be heard.
In IFS, these voices are called parts. If those words are new, you do not need them to start.
How a session works
Three small steps. You can stop at any time.
- You write what is on your mind. A few lines is enough.
- A part answers. It speaks in its own voice, and you write back in your own words. There is no score and no wrong answer.
- It closes with a reflection. InnerOS says back what came up, so you leave with one calm thought to carry.
A parent might bring, "I raised my voice at bedtime again." The tired part answers first. Then the guilty part. Then the part that only wants to be a good parent.
What a part might say
These show the spirit of a part's words, not the app's exact lines. A part speaks as I or we, and never tells you what to do.
- I am the part that is so tired. I do not like to say it, because I love them. Can I say it here?
- We are the guilt. We replay every sharp word at night. What are we trying to protect?
- I am the part that misses who I was before. I am still here. Can I come out for a little while?
Parents: common questions
When do I have time for this?
Sessions are short, so one can fit in after bedtime, during nap time, in the car at pickup. There is no appointment to book and no waitlist.
Is this parenting advice?
No. InnerOS does not tell you how to parent. It helps you hear your own inner reactions, like guilt, anger and tiredness. It is about you, not your children.
Will this make me feel worse about how I am doing?
It is built to be gentle. A part speaks in its own soft voice, and InnerOS reflects back what you wrote without judging it. If a session feels like too much, stop. You do not have to finish one.
Is my journal private?
Your journal is encrypted with a key that belongs to you alone (AES-256). The keys are kept on our servers, so it is not end-to-end encrypted.
InnerOS is not therapy
InnerOS is a place to listen to yourself. It is not therapy and it cannot treat or diagnose anything. It is not for a crisis. If you are in crisis or in danger, please reach out to a crisis line or a licensed professional right now.
