InnerOS for students: hear what you want, under all the noise
Yes, InnerOS can be a calm place to think when everyone has an opinion about your future. You write what is on your mind, and your parts answer one at a time. The anxious one, the curious one, the one that wants to please. You can open it at 2am. It is not therapy, and it is not for a crisis.
Based on Internal Family Systems (IFS) parts work and Carl Jung's archetypes.
Does any of this sound like you?
Maybe your parents want one thing, your teachers want another, and your feed says a third.
Maybe the hum of "am I doing the right thing?" does not stop, even when you study.
Maybe everyone on campus looks sure, and you are wondering at 2am if you chose wrong.
Maybe you would like to talk to someone, but the worry is here now.
What may be going on inside
At this age, big questions arrive together. What to study. Who to be. Who to love. Different parts of you want different answers. One wants to please. One wants adventure. One wants to be safe.
Their voices mix with the voices of other people. Hearing each part one at a time can help you tell which voice is yours.
In IFS, these voices are called parts. If those words are new, you do not need them to start.
How a session works
Three small steps. You can stop at any time.
- You write what is on your mind. A few lines is enough.
- A part answers. It speaks in its own voice, and you write back in your own words. There is no score and no wrong answer.
- It closes with a reflection. InnerOS says back what came up, so you leave with one calm thought to carry.
A student might bring, "Should I change my major?" The pleaser answers first. Then the curious one. Then the scared one.
What a part might say
These show the spirit of a part's words, not the app's exact lines. A part speaks as I or we, and never tells you what to do.
- I am the part that wants to make everyone proud. I am tired. Whose wish am I following?
- We are the part that is curious about everything else. We keep being told to be sensible. What would we try?
- I am the part that worries all night. I think if I plan enough, nothing bad can happen. What am I afraid of?
Students: common questions
Is this therapy?
No. InnerOS is a place to listen to yourself. It is not therapy and it is not for a crisis. If you are in crisis, contact your campus counseling center or a crisis line. The links below can help you find one.
Is this just another AI chatbot?
A general chatbot answers as one voice. InnerOS is built around your parts, so the anxious one, the curious one and the one that wants to please each get a turn, and a part you meet can come back in later check-ins.
Will my school see my data?
InnerOS is not run by your school and is not connected to it. Your journal is encrypted with a key that belongs to you alone (AES-256). The keys are kept on our servers, so it is not end-to-end encrypted.
Is it free?
There is a 14-day free trial. You can read what comes after on the pricing page.
InnerOS is not therapy
